Busy Weekend at the Library!
While my favorite library is closed ALL Weekend for Memorial Day, there will be lots of things happening behind the scenes so that when we re-open on Tuesday, May 26th, you’ll see a fresh new look in the Teen Spot and a beautiful Celebration Garden outside!
Teen Spot gets Fresh Paint

The Teen Spot is being painted over the weekend to put the finishing touch on a two-year, grant-funded, makeover. We worked with a color specialist to develop a plan for the entire main floor and help us select the colors. While it may be awhile before the whole main floor gets freshened and color-coordinated, you should see some dramatic improvements in the Teen area right away.
Celebration Garden
Like the shoemaker’s elves working invisibly, members of the Reading Garden Club, volunteers, Boy Scouts, and parents will plant the Celebration Garden this weekend while the library is closed for business. Thanks to the generosity of the library’s many loyal friends and supporters and the generous and dedicated members of the Reading Garden Club, all the plants have been purchased, the ground is prepared, the retaining walls are finished, and the plan is in place. We can’t wait to see the results next week! If you’re interested and would like to get contribute to this wonderful community Garden, please stop by the library during open hours and ask for Rachel, Ruth, or Eileen. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for good planting weather!
