Build a Community Collage with Artist Giles Laroche

This fall, our Artist-in-Residence Giles Laroche will share his artwork and lead our community in the creation of a large-scale Town of Reading collage. Mr. Laroche lives in Salem, is a fine artist, and the illustrator of many books for children. His paper relief collage illustrations are filled with detail and vibrant color. He has led many groups in the creation of a community collage. Join us this fall to help bring our town to life on paper!

  • These workshops are your chance to help create the Town of Reading community collage. We provide the materials, and Mr. Laroche provides the concept and instructions. Your creativity and enthusiasm are needed to help make Reading come alive on paper.
Many important and interesting town buildings and homes will be represented in the image. Depending on the age of the participants, you may make decorative elements like flowers, trees, and animals, or more complex objects like vehicles and buildings. No prior artistic experience necessary!
Registration begins October 2 and preference will be given to Reading residents.
