Billed as Boston’s answer to Disneyland, Pleasure Island opened in wetlands off of Route 128 in 1959.  Bob McLaughlin, co-founder of the Friends of Pleasure Island, has collected images, film, oral history and artifacts relating to the park, which he uses in his book.  Pleasure Island, part of the Images of America series, tells the story of this Wakefield amusement park.  Using these archives, Bob will take us on a trip down memory lane back to Pleasure Island.
