VOLUNTEERING
Please consider these opportunities to volunteer for the library.
Friends of the Reading Public Library
The Friends welcome volunteers to help run fundraisers and support the library.
Library Volunteers
Occasionally the library needs volunteers for specific tasks and activities. Volunteer applications are available at the Information Desk.
Teens
Teens can volunteer in one of two ways during the school year. Teen Advisors (gr. 6-12) work directly with librarians individually or in small groups working on teen-related programs and projects, and NetGuides (gr. 9-12) work with adults of all ages, teaching a variety of computer and technology related topics. Students interested in either program may contact the Teen Librarians for more details.
Additionally, students in grades 6-12 may volunteer to assist with both the Children’s and Teen Summer Reading Programs. This program requires that students volunteer a minimum of 10 hours during the summer and applications are generally available in early May.
MATERIAL DONATIONS
The Library welcomes donations of books and other items that meet our Donation Criteria.
