Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Reading Public Library is a separate, non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to enhancing library services in the town of Reading.  Our mission:

To provide enriching programming to support community interest;
To supplement library funding received from the town;
To support our talented library staff.

 

Your Friends Membership Supports:

Passes to 16 museums and local attractions, plus a ballpark
Children’s, Teen’s and Adult Summer Reading Programs
Enriching and fun programs such as Live Wires, Book Group Nights, and Toddler Sing-a-longs

How Do I Become A Friend?

Membership forms are available at the library or on-line, and can be mailed to or dropped off at the library, 64 Middlesex Ave. Reading, MA 01867. Please make checks payable to the Friends of the Reading Public Library.

The Friends are actively seeking new members and board members. The Board meets once a month at the library. Enthusiasm and a love of our town library are the only requirements!

Meeting Time and Place

Board Meetings generally take place the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the library Conference Room. The meetings are open to the public and all are invited to attend.

We sincerely appreciate and thank everyone whose generosity ensures that the Reading Public Library remains a valuable resource for our town. This spirit is reflected in the response to our Annual Membership drive, and the various Friends fundraisers that you support. We are very grateful for our Friends.
