The Friends of the Reading Public Library is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization comprised of an active group of volunteers. Our mission:
To provide enriching programming to support community interest
To supplement library funding received from the town
To support our talented library staff
The Friends of the Library are dedicated to supplementing and enhancing library services through fundraising, outreach and advocacy.

Friends Make a Difference
Become a Friend of the Library! The Friends of the Library are an enthusiastic group of volunteers working to ensure that the Reading Public Library can continue to provide quality resources to the town. Currently the Friends have over 500 members and thanks to their generosity, we are able to provide important funding for a wide variety of programs.

How Do I Become A Friend?
Becoming a Friend of the Reading Public Library is easy!
Membership forms are available at the library or on-line, and can be mailed to or dropped off at the library, 64 Middlesex Ave. Reading, MA 01867. Please make checks payable to the Friends of the Reading Public Library.
The Friends are actively seeking new members and board members. The Board meets once a month at the library. Enthusiasm and a love of our town library are the only requirements!

Meeting Time and Place
Board Meetings generally take place the fourth Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the library Conference Room. The meetings are open to the public and all are invited to attend.
We sincerely appreciate and thank everyone whose generosity ensures that the Reading Public Library remains a valuable resource for our town. This spirit is reflected in the response to our Annual Membership drive, and the various Friends fundraisers that you support. We are very grateful for our Friends.
