Join us for this extremely popular annual event. Visit the Reading Public Library Parking Lot and get up close to lots of trucks, diggers and emergency vehicles. Children, bring along a grown-up. Grown-ups, bring along a child! And don’t forget the camera!

Stuffed Animal Pet Show

Flat Chippy, Chumley’s paper cousin, has seen some great sights this summer with many Reading families. Head to our Flat Chippy’s Adventures post to see an interactive Google map of where he’s been and to listen to some podcasts recorded by Chippy’s friends.

Build a LEGO Pet

Drop-in to build a pet using LEGO blocks provided by the library. Create a LEGO version of your real pet, or design an imaginary animal you think might make a fun pet. LEGO blocks do not go home; participants will have the chance to describe their pet and have a picture taken for an online slideshow.

Dog Show

Do you have an adorable puppy? Or a dog who has an amazing talent? Register your family dog to participate in our dog show and parade, which will take place on the front lawn of the library. Costumes are optional. Every dog will get his or her chance to have the spotlight! Everyone is invited to watch the show; you do not need to have a dog participating to come watch the parade.
Rain date is July 22nd from 2:30 – 4:00 pm. Register by stopping by the Children’s Room or calling 781-942-6705.
