Summer Reading FAQs
When do I sign up? How does it work? Who can participate?
When do I sign up? – Stop by the Children’s Room any time this summer, beginning Friday June 18th.
How does it work? – As you read or listen this summer, you’ll keep track of your time. We’ll provide you with a grid to take home. For every 20 minutes that you read or listen, you’ll check off one box on the grid. When you finish a row, you can visit the library to chart your progress on your sign-up sheet, put your coins in the animal bucket of your choice, and redeem your raffle tickets.
Readers who finish the whole grid get a special prize! New this summer: Report your finished rows online. Find out how…
Who can participate? – Any children, birth through grade 6, can join. If children are too young to read on their own, they can keep track of listening time. In our Book Buddies program, older siblings in grades 4-6 read to younger siblings and both get to mark the time spent on their grids.
