What it is "Library Takeout"? Library Takeout is a service of the Reading Public Library that provides delivery of books and other materials to homebound Reading residents of any age who cannot visit the Library because of physical difficulties, including temporary disabilities.

Monthly Deliveries to Senior Communities

The Library provides monthly book deliveries to Peter Sanborn Place on the first Monday of the month at 2:30 PM.

To request a delivery to an individual at Peter Sanborn Place, Longwood Place, Cedar Glen or other elder community in Reading, please contact the Elder Services Librarian at 781-944-0840.

Book Nook at the Senior Center

The Library maintains a rotating collection of large print materials at the Senior Center Book Nook. Books may be borrowed from and returned directly to the Book Nook. The title selection changes on a monthly basis. New books are delivered the third Friday of each month.

Not-Too-Stuffy Book Group

Designed for older adults, the Not-Too-Stuffy Book Group meets at the Pleasant Street Center once a month to discuss both fiction and nonfiction titles selected by the group.
