Book Review: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson wasn’t like any other kid in New York City. He suffers from ADHD and dyslexia which is the main reason that in within six years he was transferred to six different schools. Percy’s real father was “lost at sea” when he was little and his disgusting stepfather (Smelly Gabe) took his place. To Percy he already looked at himself as weirdo, but when he discovered that his father was the Lord of the Seas he didn’t know what to think. The next thing that happens, Percy is constantly being chased by monsters from the Underworld, running for him life, and finding out about his past. He is assigned to go on a dangerous quest to the Land of the Dead in search of Zeus’s lightning bolt (which he has been framed for stealing) and his mother. Percy must unravel the mystery and prove to the Gods he’s a true hero.
