Sensory Storytime

Saturday, May 19, 2012 @ 10:00 – 10:30 a.m.

This storytime is designed for 2 to 5 year olds with autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration issues, other developmental disabilities, and their typically developing peers.

If your child has difficulty sitting through one of our other storytimes, this program of stories, songs, and activities might be just what you are looking for!
Before your visit, try using our This Is My Library social story, featuring information and pictures of the Reading Public Library and our Children’s Room.

LEGO Creation Club

Sunday, April 15, 2012 @ 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Drop-in to build with LEGO blocks.  Use your imagination to make something unique!  Teen volunteers will be on hand to help with ideas or finding blocks.  LEGO blocks don’t go home, but we’ll take your picture with your creation if you’d like.  For children ages 5 and up.
Our LEGO club meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 3-4pm in the Meeting Room.

2012 Award Winners Announced

Yesterday at the American Library Association’s  Midwinter Conference in Dallas, TX, the youth media award winners were announced.  Every year we look forward with anticipation to finding out what books will take home these high honors.

Sign-up begins Monday January 23rd for our winter/spring storytime sessions for children ages 2 through 5. Are you thinking of getting one for the new year?  Join us on Thursday, January 19th for an informative and fun evening learning about a variety of different eReaders.   Our librarian experts will walk you through the process of downloading eBooks from OverDrive, our free downloadable media service.  You will also have the opportunity to try out the iPad, Nook, Kindle and other eReaders at our eReader Petting Zoo.
