Understanding Disabilities
This booklist was compiled by Understanding Disabilities, a local non-profit organization that has been a part of the Reading School Curriculum for 25 years. Its simple message, that “we are all the same inside,” builds a culture of acceptance. Children are taught how to acknowledge and accept each other; the program gives them the tools to embrace each others’ differences.
