Summer Reading for Teens

2019 Teen Summer Reading

EARN SCRATCH TICKETS & WIN PRIZES ALL SUMMER

June 22-August 17   |   No sign up or registration!

If you’re entering grades 6-12, there are two ways to earn scratch tickets:

    • Check out an item(s) from Reading Public Library and earn a scratch ticket. One ticket per day only.
    • Complete this review form and return it to the library to earn a ticket. Each completed review earns one ticket.
    • Not interested in a scratch ticket? Earn a free book instead for each of the above described methods. One book per day with checkout or one book per completed review.

All non-winning tickets qualify for the Grand Prize Raffles. Just fill out your contact info on the ticket to be entered. Winners drawn at the end of the summer.

Each ticket has the potential to win a prize. Scratch it off to reveal if it’s a winner or not. View the prize list to see all the items you could win over the summer!

If you choose a free book in lieu of a ticket, you’ll get to pick from a selection of many amazing teen titles!

Bring your checked out item(s) and receipt, or completed review form, to the Research & Reader Services Desk near the Teen Area to claim your ticket or free book.

You can still earn tickets! Complete the review form for each book you read and bring it to the library by August 17 to redeem for a ticket or free book. Reviews must be fifty words or more to qualify for a ticket, and the book you review must be read DURING the 2019 summer. Each completed review earns one ticket or free book.

To participate you must be entering grades 6-12 in the fall. Teens must check out items themselves and/or be present in the library to earn a scratch ticket.

    • Tickets issued June 22-August 17.
    • Once a participant decides between a scratch ticket or a free book, s/he cannot change the decision.
    • Items must be checked out at the Reading Public Library to earn a ticket or free book. Be sure to get a receipt and bring both the receipt and item(s) to the Research & Reader Services Desk immediately to redeem for a ticket or free book.
    • One ticket or free book issued per day with checkout. To earn more, visit the library as often as you can and/or complete a review form for each book read.
    • Any item checked out counts toward a ticket/free book, with the exception of in-library use items (headphones, laptops, chargers, etc.) and e-books & e-audio. Tickets for e-books & e-audio can only be earned through completing a review form.
    • Turn in your losing ticket to be entered in the Grand Prize Raffles (one chance per ticket). Free book option does not qualify for Grand Prize Raffles.
