Libraries Rock (our summer theme) and so does Patti Smith. Join us for coffee and a discussion of her first book of prose.
In Just Kids, American poet, singer and artist, Patti Smith offers a glimpse of her relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe during the 1960’s in New York City, starring a colorful cast of characters that includes Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsberg, Andy Warhol, and the Chelsea Hotel. Smith brings the same unique quality to National Book Award Winner, Just Kids, as she has to the rest of her formidable body of work, from her influential 1975 album Horses to her visual art and poetry. Let’s go back in time together! Copies of the book are available in the hold shelf area of Borrower Services.
